In 2003, MACAW Engineering published the book “MACAW’s Pipeline Defects”, the very first edition of this encyclopedia of pipeline defects. Now ROSEN plans to publish a new edition of the Encyclopedia to reflect latest industry experience. Therefore, ROSEN opens a call for pictures to collect images of pipeline defects from the pipeline community.
The book illustrates a number of defects that can be found in high-pressure steel pipelines and pipeline coatings. In addition, it advises on the probable cause and importance of the defects and comments on the appropriate corrective actions.
The book quickly established itself as a useful reference guide for pipeline engineers, and in 2017, the book format was updated and initially published under the ROSEN brand name as “The Encyclopedia of Pipeline Defects”. Today there are three editions and now we need your help to make the 4th edition possible.
A panel of experts will screen all entries and select those for publication. When the call for pictures has ended, a public voting to determine the best picture will be held from August 1 to August 8, 2023 and ends at the RIO Pipeline 2023 with a public winners announcement.
The winning photo will be printed in the frontispiece of the book.
All images selected for publication, regardless of placement, will be acknowledged in the book.
